Toast Skagen is a Swedish dish made from a prawn spread served on toasted bread topped with bleak roe. It's typically served as an appetizer or a starter for dinner. Our mini Toast Skagen have the perfect bite-sized format to be served at a buffet.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices of Fria White Toast
  • rapeseed oil for frying
  • Skagen mix:
  • 200 g prawns, peeled and chopped
  • 100 ml mayonnaise
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 3 tbsp fresh or frozen dill, chopped
  • salt, white pepper
  • bleak roe
  • sprigs of dill

HOW TO MAKE IT

  • Thaw the gluten-free bread as directed on the packaging. Mix all the ingredients for the Skagen mix. Save some of the onion to garnish. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cut out 12 circles or ovals from the gluten-free Fria White Toast using a cutter or glass. Alternatively, cut off the crusts and halve the gluten-free bread slices.

  • Fry the bread in a little oil until brown. Allow to cool. Place the bread on a platter and top with the Skagen mix, bleak roe, and chopped onion. Garnish with dill.
