What started as a small family business over 20 years ago has grown into a leading gluten-free bakery in the Nordic region, offering frozen gluten-free bakery products. We always strive to be a gluten-free bakery that gives anyone who wants to eat a gluten-free diet more opportunities to eat well. Our range includes everything from gluten-free bread and pastries to ready meals. Fria is a gluten-free bakery whose mission statement is “the good gluten-free life”. In line with this, we’re a gluten-free bakery that’s constantly in pursuit of new and delicious products.
THE HISTORY OF OUR GLUTEN-FREE BAKERY
Even by the 1990s, there was hardly anything that could be called a gluten-free bakery. The range of products for people with coeliac disease was limited to say the least. It was at this time that Lena Adås and her husband, Gunnar, recognised the need for a gluten-free bakery. The demand for quality gluten-free bread turned out to get even greater than either of them could have ever imagined.
