Report Misconduct or Irregularities
At Fria Bröd, we do our utmost to ensure that the business is conducted in an ethical and correct manner in accordance with applicable law. However, we are aware that all organizations may be subject to misconduct or irregularities.
By establishing a reporting channel with an external recipient and an independent and autonomous investigator, Fria Bröd wants to encourage employees and others in a work-related context with Fria Bröd to raise and report serious incidents or suspicions of misconduct and irregularities concerning Fria Bröd.
The channel and system are entirely separate from Fria Bröd’s other IT systems and do not track IP addresses or other data that could identify the person submitting a message.
Who can report?
A natural person, inside or outside the organization (the group of eligible persons), who is in a work-related context with Fria Bröd, can report misconduct through the channel. That is, if you are a person in a current or previous employment relationship with Fria Bröd and have obtained information about misconduct. If you are unsure whether you qualify, we encourage you to report anyway and communicate with the external party to clarify.
How should you report?
You will then be taken to a form, which you should fill in as accurately and thoroughly as possible regarding the matter you wish to report.
As your report is received by a completely independent external party – a law firm that is autonomous and independent of Fria Bröd – we ask you to also include your identity in the report.
If you report through the channel and provide your identity, it will be protected because the external party handling your report is legally bound by confidentiality (see Chapter 9, Section 1 of the Swedish Whistleblower Protection Act (2021:890)).
There is no legal obligation for the organization to accept anonymous reports. Being anonymous may hinder the investigation of the matter and the assessment of whether the reporting person is within the eligible group and entitled to access the reporting channel and the legal protections provided.
You are also expected to take responsibility for the case by following up regularly through the channel and responding to questions from the investigator to ensure the matter achieves the desired outcome.
What should you report
The types of incidents that should be reported through the channel are described in the law as “information about misconduct in a work-related context that is of public interest to disclose.”
To qualify as being of public interest, the matter must concern serious conditions, relate to a group that can be considered the general public, and there must be a legitimate interest in exposing the misconduct.
This may include common and systematic irregularities that are of societal interest to correct or stop. The misconduct does not have to be current or ongoing; it can also concern completed and fully resolved issues. However, information that only concerns the reporting person’s own employment or working conditions is generally not covered by the law.
The misconduct must also be of such a nature that the reporting person, at the time of reporting, had reasonable grounds to believe the information was true.
What happens after you report?
The case will be received by our external partner, who will screen the case and handle communication with you. You can expect confirmation of receipt within seven days, so please log in again within eight days of submitting your report.
