Have you ever tried making an avocado rose? Find the best avocado you can and give it a go – it’s easier than you might think. It may seem like more trouble than it’s worth to some, but is there anything more inviting than an avocado rose? Not if it’s presented on a toasted slice of Fria Sourdough Bread – as it is here.

Cut the avocado in half, remove the stone and then peel off the skin.
Rub the avocado with your fingers so that it becomes smooth.
Cut the avocado into thin slices with a sharp knife. Do this carefully so that the slices stay together and don’t slip apart.
With your fingers, carefully form a long line with the sliced avocado.
Extend the slices even more. The further you can extend the slices, the easier they are to roll up.
Carefully start to roll up the avocado from the pointed end. Continue until you have a rose.
Put the rose on a slice of Fria Sourdough Bread.
Garnish with olive oil, chilli flakes and sea salt.
