Although these buns have many different names in Swedish, our gluten-free saffron buns are right at home in the festive season. Saffron buns are typically enjoyed around the time of the Swedish Lucia celebrations on 13 December each year. The buns are flavoursome and soft and taste just as saffron buns should. They go great with a glass of milk, or a steaming cup of coffee.
Fria’s gluten-free saffron buns are also free from lactose and milk protein.
We freeze our gluten-free saffron buns as soon as they come out of the oven. This helps to lock in their softness, great flavour, and texture.
