What started as a purely family matter more than 29 years ago has today become a leading gluten-free bakery in the Nordic region for frozen, gluten-free baked goods.
Every day, we make sure to be a gluten-free bakery that gives everyone who needs to eat gluten-free more opportunities to enjoy great food. Our range includes everything from gluten-free bread and sweet treats to ready-made meals. Fria is a gluten-free bakery with the mission “the good gluten-free life.” Guided by that motto, we continue, as a gluten-free bakery, to pursue great new flavors.
The story of a gluten-free bakery
As recently as the 1990s, there was hardly anything that could be called a gluten-free bakery. In fact, the selection for people with gluten intolerance was extremely limited. It was at this time that Lena Adås and her husband Gunnar saw the need for a gluten-free bakery. The demand for good gluten-free bread turned out to be much greater than either of them could have imagined.
Fria is a knowledge-based company
A bakery is all well and good, but the fact is that Fria is also a knowledge-based company. This means that we also work proactively to spread knowledge about celiac disease and make everyday life easier for those who want to eat gluten-free.
